Since our first Irish store opened in Dublin’s Jervis Shopping Centre in October 1996, we’ve gone through a lot of changes. Over the past 30 years, we’ve been Dixons, Currys PC World and, now we’re simply Currys. We now have 16 stores across the country who are rooted in their local communities and filled with tech experts from every corner of Ireland.
Currys employs over 600 people who are all vital in helping you enjoy our amazing technology, whether it’s our colleagues in our stores, those behind-the-scenes in our corporate office or our colleagues who work hard to get products delivered to our stores and to your door.
To celebrate our milestone birthday, we are doing a mega tech giveaway to three lucky primary schools.
Celebrate & Win with Currys
We don’t just want to celebrate our birthday; we want to celebrate all the amazing schools around the country and give something back to the communities that have supported us over the past three decades.
We are launching a competition for three schools across the country to each win €3,000 worth of tech. From interactive classroom technology to laptops, tablets and other useful kit, €3,000 worth of new tech could make a real difference to a primary school. And entering couldn’t be simpler.
How can you enter?
Parents, teachers, caretakers and anyone else with a connection to a primary school can enter the competition on behalf of a primary school, provided they are aged 18 or over. Three winning schools will then be selected, with each receiving €3,000 worth of Currys technology.
Visit our Currys 30th birthday page and tell Currys three reasons why your school deserves this super tech package.
The competition opens on the 28th of September and closes on 26th October 2026.
The competition is open to residents of the Republic of Ireland aged 18 and over who are entering on behalf of a primary school with which they have a connection, including parents, teachers, caretakers and other members of the school community.
Terms and conditions apply.
This competition is open to all primary schools from Malin Head to Mizen Head so best of luck to all the amazing schools throughout the country!
“Turning 30 is a brilliant milestone for Currys in Ireland and we wanted to celebrate it by doing something that could have a lasting impact in communities around the country. “Technology has changed enormously since we opened our first Irish store in Jervis Shopping Centre back in 1996, and it has also become an increasingly important part of how children learn and explore the world around them. “We know there are fantastic primary schools doing incredible work in every corner of Ireland, so we want to hear what makes your local school special. Tell us why they deserve a tech boost and they could be one of three schools receiving €3,000 worth of new technology.”
