From our day-to-day recycling to once-in-blue-moon levels of recycling, it’s important to make sure that you properly recycle. While your local recycling centre can be a godsend for stacks of cardboard or polystyrene, we want to make it easy for you get rid of all your old appliances and tech.
Cash for Trash
We will always encourage recycling, but we want to take it a step further and reward you for recycling ahead of the summer months.
Dig out that busted hairdryer, find that stack of old phones you have “just in case” and finally get rid of that lime-encrusted kettle and bring them to your nearest Currys store. Whether it’s a large or small electrical item, a computer, or a fridge freezer, we’ll give you a €5 voucher to spend in-store or online with Currys.
As with all electrical recycling with Currys, you don’t need to have bought the item with us. We’re happy to recycle it no matter where you bought it or how old it is.
To use the €5 voucher, you must spend a minimum of €25 and complete the purchase by the 14th of June 2022

Before you recycle your old tech
If you’re planning to recycle phones, laptops, computers, or tablets that you no longer need, want or are on their way out, make sure to back them up and clear them before you do so.
By backing up, we mean making sure you have a copy of files, photos, or videos you have stored on it. You can easily back these up online to a service like Google Drive or your iCloud or you can back them up onto an external hard-drive.
To make sure there’s no trace of your personal information, you can easily restore your device to its factory settings. You’d be surprised how much personal information would be on your device so it’s best to completely wipe any device.
