We recently carried out a survey that uncovered some interesting laundry habits among Irish households.
58% of people have adapted their laundry routine by washing at lower temperatures to save on energy costs.
A surprising 5% admitted they don’t understand any of the symbols or settings on their washing machines!
68% of respondents have shrunk their clothes at least once.
Over half (52%) admit to overloading their machines despite knowing they shouldn’t.
The survey also revealed that while 75% of people read clothing care labels, many are neglecting an important part of their laundry routine – cleaning their washing machines. The recommended frequency for washing machine maintenance is every three months, yet 41% of people clean theirs only every six months, and 20% only once a year.
