We love watching TV. From streaming the latest series everyone is talking about to watching our favourite weekly shows. Sky have been at the forefront of entertaining Irish homes for over 20 years, and now they’ve launched an exciting new service in our stores. Sky Glass.
What is Sky Glass TV?
Sky Glass comes with the ultimate TV package. It includes Sky TV, Netflix, and your Sky Glass television. The televisions are available in three sizes (43”, 55” or 65”) and an array of colours from Ocean Blue to Anthracite Black. With Sky Glass, the days of having to find a place for a Sky box or dish and keeping track of two remote controls are gone. Once your Sky Glass TV is plugged in, it’s ready to go with your single remote. Or if that doesn’t suit you, it also has voice control. More on that later.
You can still series link your favourite shows, but now they’re saved to the cloud in the ‘playlist’ section, so you never run out of space or have to pick which show to delete to make room for. You can even create a playlist with your favourite shows from Sky and other streaming partners, such as Netflix, too. So they’re all in one place.
If you’re watching live TV and missed the start, you can just hit the middle button to rewind to the start, so you never miss out on great TV.
Sky Glass Tech Specs
Sky Glass has a 4K UHD Quantum Dot display with over one billion vibrant colours. With Dolby Vision and HDR10, everything you watch will be perfectly tuned for the best picture from a deep contrast to intense colours. It has 360° Dolby Atmos® surround sound so the sound from its six speakers flows out and envelops you. Sky Glass is also the world’s first certified CarbonNeutral® TV.
To minimise the amount of power it uses, it has ambient light sensors to match the brightness to your room and motion detection, so it goes into standby when there’s no one to watch it. All the packaging for Sky Glass is 100% recyclable too to ensure sustainability is at the heart of the TV.
On Sky, there are over 150 channels available to you and, on top of that, there are 21 apps on the TV, so you can stream to your heart’s content. Everything can be voice-controlled, just say “Hello Sky” and you can search, watch, record, browse… Anything you can do with the remote, you can do with your voice.
