What should I look for when buying an iron?
Looking to upgrade your iron? Or maybe you’re moving into a new home and want to make sure your wardrobe is always looking fresh. The first thing to consider is if you want a standard iron or a steam generator iron. Steam generator irons have large water tanks so they heat up quickly and you don’t have to fill them back up as much. They’re also great at ironing those annoying fabrics like denim. Need something a little less heavy duty? Cordless irons are perfect for quickly freshening up a shirt without having to find a plug.
Clothes steamer or iron?
It all depends on how much you iron. If you’ve got loads of school shirts and work suits to keep on top of – an iron is the best way to get rid of stubborn creases time and again. But if you’re just freshening up a satin dress or the occasional shirt, a clothes steamer is the one for you (and saves time setting up the ironing board). If you think it might be a bit of both – steam irons are perfect for tackling every task. Especially if they have a shot of steam function – you’ll be able to power through your laundry in no time.
