Electrical products are brilliant when they’re working, but getting rid of your old one can be problematic. Maybe you're aware, or maybe not, that Ireland is one of the best recyclers of electrical appliances in Europe. Under Ireland's application of the European WEEE directive, retailers are obliged to accept old products on a one for one basis when consumers are purchasing new electrical appliances. When a new appliance is being delivered, retailers are again obliged to take away and arrange the recycling of the old appliance. We're delighted to play our part in this.If you have any piece of electrical equipment you want to recycle, you can either:• Bring your old product into any of our Currys storesOr • We can collect and recycle your old TV (when you buy a TV of 32” or above) or large domestic appliance for free when you have your new product delivered by our home delivery service.
PLEASE NOTE: If you are recycling a product that holds personal data (i.e. PC, Laptop, Mobile Phone, etc.) you will need to have removed the information from your old product prior to us receiving it as we will not carry out any data removal. What we’d ask you to do...Before we arrive, we would ask that you ensure that the old appliance is in a fit state to be taken away by us.
We just ask that you make sure you've safely disconnected your old equipment before we arrive.Look out for our symbol
