Top features: - Powerful telephoto performance in a compact design - Smooth Stepping Motor is ideal for video making - Stability for portfolio-worthy shots - Quality design for brilliant results Powerful telephoto performance Affording you a wide range of long focal lengths (equivalent to 88-400 mm in a 35 mm format), the EF-S 55-250 mm Lens is both compact and affordable for a lens of its calibre. It covers a great variety of telephoto scenarios and requirements, all within one lens. Now you can get up close and personal with subjects from a distance, and be assured of photographs with depth and clarity. The circular aperture diaphragm works brilliantly at large apertures for smooth, even blur – perfect for emphasizing subjects shot against distracting backgrounds.Smooth Stepping Motor Shoot videos and take advantage of the Canon lens' smooth silent motor to let you zoom in and out while filming without the motor registering on the microphone. Thanks to the intelligent design you can record quietly without disturbing your subject with the freedom to zoom in and out with quiet, discreet results.Stability for portfolio-worthy shots The Canon EF-S 55-250 mm f/4-5.6 Zoom Lens achieves a minimal focusing distance of only 0.85 metres throughout the focal range. With a four-stop image stabiliser featuring automatic panning detection, it combats camera shake and effectively suppresses blur in low light. You can therefore use shutter speeds up to four times slower without a noticeable increase in image blur. This superior focusing mechanism is invaluable when capturing distant subjects, keeping things sharp and precise and making it a superior choice for sports, nature or even portraiture. What's more, the panning detection also automatically turns off image stabilisation in either the horizontal or vertical direction when the camera is following moving subjects so you capture things just as you see them. Quality design A Canon UD (Ultra-low Dispersion) lens element is used to suppress the effects of secondary chromatic aberrations, so you'll get crisper, sharper images with excellent contrast, without fringing occurring throughout the zoom range. The E-FS 55-250 mm f/4-5.6 IS Telephoto Lens also employs Canon's Super Spectra coatings to cut out ghosting and flare. It absorbs light that might be reflected off digital camera sensors or internal lens elements. The coating also ensures more precise colour balance and sharper results with superior contrast. Canon use only environmentally-friendly, lead-free glass in the EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS II, combining performance quality with progressive materials.
